It’s that time of year again! Full of chocolate, flowers, and love, Valentine’s Day has become a favorite holiday over the years. We’ve scoured the internet and compiled a few crafts and recipes for you to reference as you start thinking about how you’ll celebrate.
Who isn’t a sucker for the Handprint poem? If one from your child doesn’t send you weeping, you have a will of steel.
This a classic Valentine’s creation and one of the simplest. Either print the handprint poem onto the paper beforehand or add it later, get the paint of your choice, and have at it.
If you want to take it a little further, sprinkle some glitter over the handprints before it dries or attach a current picture of your child to help remember everything about them at this age. They’re only young once, after all!
This is the most commonly used version of the poem, but there are countless others you can find with a simple trip to Google:
- Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and wallsBut every day I’m growing –
I’ll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away
So here’s a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
